TL;DR: Orijin AI, the intelligence layer behind Orijin Plus, is now available to every existing and new brand globally, marking our largest product release to date and dramatically expanding the depth, autonomy and operational reach of the AI capabilities already built into the platform.

Agent Plus has now been extended across 52 new tools spanning catalogue management, compliance, traceability, packaging, document intelligence and resolver infrastructure, allowing the AI to perform much of the work required to build, structure and maintain a brand's product data infrastructure. This materially changes the scaling model for Orijin Plus and evolves Orijin AI from an assistive capability into an operational layer increasingly responsible for managing the product data itself.

The intelligence layer behind every product record is now live

Orijin Plus has always given brands a path from a physical product to a trusted, resolvable digital identity.

The difficult part has always been getting there.

Product information typically sits fragmented across supplier documents, certificates, spreadsheets, packaging specifications, compliance records and internal systems. Turning that information into structured, usable product data has historically required significant manual reconciliation and configuration.

Our latest release changes that.

A brand can now work through a single conversation while Agent Plus actively operates the underlying Orijin Plus platform on its behalf, turning intent into action across product, compliance, traceability, packaging and resolver infrastructure. Work that previously required navigating workflows, configuring records and manually maintaining product data can increasingly be executed by the AI itself.

Agent Plus can create and manage products, interpret documents, structure compliance information, work across packaging levels, build traceability records, manage disclosures and connect product information into resolver-ready infrastructure.

Increasingly, it can build that structure directly from information the brand already has.

Upload a supplier certificate, product specification or spreadsheet and Agent Plus can understand what it is, extract the relevant information, create the correct structured record, associate it with the right product and GTIN, and make that information usable across the wider product ecosystem.

This is not a chatbot layered over a database. It is becoming the product intelligence operator behind the platform.

One product identity. Every system that needs it.

The value of that infrastructure is that it is not built for a single audience or use case.

The same GS1 resolver-connected product identity can serve a consumer scanning the pack, a retailer or supply-chain system requesting structured information, a regulator checking disclosures, or an AI agent determining whether a product meets a specific requirement.

Each accesses the information relevant to them from the same underlying source of truth.

That is the interoperability problem much of the industry is only beginning to confront.

Brands, retailers, regulators and consumers have historically worked from different versions of the same product data, spread across disconnected systems, documents and databases.

Orijin Plus collapses those silos into one resolvable product identity, with information structured once and made usable wherever it is needed.

Orijin AI now makes creating, maintaining and continuously enriching that infrastructure dramatically easier.

Compliance becomes infrastructure, not another point solution

Our Digital Product Passport and disclosure engine goes beyond hardcoding today's regulatory requirements.

Orijin Plus can support defined disclosure frameworks across product, packaging and traceability requirements, while also allowing brands to create their own disclosure requirements for retailers, customers, markets or future regulation.

A brand is therefore not limited to what regulators require today.

The same infrastructure can support the transparency demanded by customers, retailers and supply-chain partners, and adapt as those requirements evolve.

Rather than adding another disconnected compliance system each time something changes, the underlying product record becomes the infrastructure that new requirements build on.

This materially changes the scaling model

The significance of this release goes well beyond the product experience.

It changes how Orijin Plus can scale.

The work that historically sits between a brand joining the platform and reaching a structured, resolver-ready catalogue can increasingly be performed by the platform itself.

That means faster activation, less friction as catalogues become larger and more complex, and the ability to support significantly more brands without onboarding and product-data administration scaling linearly alongside them.

It also deepens the role Orijin Plus plays inside a brand.

Once product, packaging, compliance and traceability information is structured around persistent product identities and continuously maintained through Orijin AI, Orijin Plus becomes part of the underlying product-data infrastructure of that business rather than another software feature sitting on top of it.

Agent Plus also carries persistent brand and product context across sessions, allowing the system to become progressively more useful as it learns how each business operates.

The infrastructure shift is no longer theoretical

The physical product ecosystem is being rebuilt around structured, machine-readable data.

GS1's global transition toward 2D barcodes is moving packaging beyond a simple identifier and toward a persistent digital gateway connecting physical products to live information, services and systems. The industry's goal is for retail POS systems globally to support GS1-powered 2D barcodes by the end of 2027, with adoption already underway across major markets.

At the same time, Digital Product Passports are creating an entirely new information infrastructure around physical goods in Europe. The EU's Digital Product Passport Registry is now live, alongside the standards required to make that data interoperable across systems.

PPWR extends that shift directly into packaging, increasing the amount of packaging composition, sustainability, recyclability and end-of-life information brands will need to manage and make available across increasingly complex regulatory and commercial environments.

In the US, FSMA 204 is pushing affected food supply chains toward significantly more structured, interoperable and lot-level traceability records, with FDA enforcement currently scheduled from July 20, 2028.

These initiatives are different, but they are all driving the same underlying infrastructure shift:

Every physical product increasingly needs a trusted digital identity, structured data behind it, and an infrastructure layer capable of serving that information wherever it is required.

And now another consumer of that infrastructure is emerging just as quickly: AI.

As AI agents increasingly search, compare, recommend and transact on behalf of consumers and businesses, brands will need authoritative product information that machines can identify, resolve and verify.

Humans can interpret a product page.

Machines need structured data.

The same infrastructure now being driven by connected packaging, regulation, retail and traceability is becoming the foundation for agentic commerce.

That convergence is exactly what Orijin Plus was built for.

Where this is heading

What started as connected packaging infrastructure is becoming the intelligence layer between a brand's fragmented product information and every human or machine that needs to understand it.

A brand provides what it already has.

Orijin AI structures, connects and maintains it.

Orijin Plus gives the product a persistent digital identity.

The resolver makes that information available wherever it needs to go.

Consumers, retailers, supply-chain systems, regulators and AI agents can then interact with the same trusted product record.

Build the product record once. Make it usable everywhere.

Our latest Orijin AI release is the clearest demonstration yet of where Orijin Plus is heading.

For anyone interested in seeing it in action, we’re happy to provide a live walkthrough of the release and the step-change it creates in platform capability, scalability and product-data infrastructure.
